the brief
This brief called for a full rebrand of Edinburgh’s iconic King’s Theatre. Ahead of its reopening, the goal was to create a modern visual identity that honors over a century of heritage while preparing the venue for a digital-first future.

the decisions
Drawing from audience research, the visual direction needed to bridge the gap between long-standing theatregoers and a new, younger demographic. Rich purple tones were chosen to honor the King’s regal heritage and timeless sophistication, while modern, vibrant accents keep the palette fresh, dynamic, and engaging across digital platforms today.

the outcome
The result is a bold, modern brand identity designed for today’s digital age. The system scales across digital platforms and the website, while extending into physical merchandise—including tickets, keychains, and stationery to enhance visibility and create lasting connections with a broad audience.
